Valencia 🇪🇸

Publicerad 2015-05-18 22:01:09 i Allmänt,

Our journey has come to an end. We have spent the last days in Valencia, a beautiful city in the south Spain. The room we had booked was near the city center. Good for us to live central, because in Lisbon and Porto we had to take the metro and the bus a lot and this took lots of time.
Normally, when people visit a city they first look around the city center and make sightseeing. But what about us? We went to the Mestalla-Stadium at first and made a stadium tour 😄 We know, a little bit crazy... After the tour we went to the city center and bought something nice to wear. We didn't want to wear our hiking clothes all the time( they are dirty), so Johanna got a skirt and a top and Lara a dress. It felt so good to wear something nice! 😃
The next day was a sightseeing day. At first we wanted to visit the bullfighting-arena, but there was a political event, so we went to the aquarium. There we spent five hours... If you want to see all the animals 🐧🐢🐳🐙🐠🐡, eat something 🍟 and watch the dolphin-show 🐬, you need this time. And it is really worth to seeing! Although the "Francesinha" had damaged our tastebuds we tried the traditional drink "Horchata". This is "Erdmandelmilch". It was better than the Francesinha and Johanna liked it, but Lara didn't.
We went back to the city to visit the cathedral and the two pairs of towers. It was too late to go to the top of them, so we decided to do this one day later. That day, we got an overview of the city and the things were more close than we thought. On the map it all looked far away from each other. Valencia is a wonderful city with lots of influence from the modern architecture. We both really liked it!
On Sunday, we first went to the top of the cathedral. 207 stairs... But we were trained 😉 Arrived, we had a great view over the city!
We also went to the top of the Serrano-Towers. The view was good too, but not as the one you had from the cathedral. It's because the tower is not as high as the tower of the church. Then we ate a little bit before we went to the beach to have a little bath for our feet and then back to our room for taking a shower.
Our soccer-hearts ⚽️❤️ were beating  high, because we had tickets for the match between Valencia CF and Celta Vigo. They played remis (1:1) against each other. The match was not the best, but it was cool to see Spanish soccer. And especially our German worldcup- winner Shkodran Mustafi is playing in Valencia 😉 one more reason to visit the match!
After this, we went back to the city to eat something. Moreover, we made a little nightwalk to our room because the metro was not coming anymore. However, it wasn't far away, even if it would be no problem for us!
On our last day, we visited the bullfighting-arena. It was really interesting to get to know all the things about the fight, the bull, the Toreros and the arena. We didn't have much time left after that, so we got lunch and an ice cream (in monster-size...) before we went to the airport. So guys, our journey has come to an end now. It was such a great experience we made and we will always keep this beautiful time in mind! We learned so much and got to meet many great people. We will always carry this in our hearts and will be thankful fur the new friendships:) Thanks to everyone on our way and thanks to you for reading our blog and your interest 😘 //Johanna & Lara
