In the last days in Hiirola we, among others, went to another icehockey game. After seven seconds Jukurit shot the first goal of five! The game was really good, like the other games ;)
Another thing we did, was to establish some furniture for the kids room. The kids got some new stuff and therefore we had to build eight Malm- cupboards, two sofas and some hallstanders. It took nearly a whole day for the three of us doing this. But now we are experts in establishing Ikea items :D
This we had to do inside, but we also want to mention what we did outside. Firewood is always necessary in the winter. In the case you have an oven. And in this house there are a few of them! So we made some firewood. It was really cool and funny! We did it for the first but not for the last time ;) Before we could swing the axe we had to bring some big branches away. They were quite heavy! But hey, we are two strong girls :D
In the evening we often played "Wo liegt was?" or "Stadt, Land, Fluss". Ok, the first games weren´t the best ones... But training makes a champion! Or do you know exactly where Guinea-Bissau is?
All in all, we had a wonderful time here! And we want to thank everybody here for making this time to a great experience! We learned so many new things and we never had expected that we would build a fence or a stable one day. However, now we have done this and also a lot of other things out- and inside. And we also got to know lots of new people and once again we realized how small the world can be. German people everywhere :D
Now we are looking forward to the next days, because we will travel and see all the scandinavian capitals.
The last three days, we have been making a short stop in Helsinki and we did lots of sightseeing. Thankfully, we could live at family friends of Leena. They live a little bit outside of Helsinki and the couple has a very sweet baby girl called Lilly. They are really nice and we really enjoyed the days at their place. Thank you!<3
Helsinki is a beautiful city and we both think every one of you should at least go there once an see it! Especially, Helsinki at winter- time is really nice.We walked through the city a lot and saw the most important sights of Helsinki. There are two big churches in the city, which you can reach from the harbour. They are both rally really big and worth seeing.
Furthermore, we saw the Parliament, Finlandia(the congress), the Olympic Stadium of Helsinki and we walked through the city center, which is directly next to the railway station. By the way, the railwaystation is really worth seeing too! We also went to two museums: the Finish National Museum and the Military Museum. Both museums were really nice, but we both were very fascinated by the Military Museum. It had really nice and interesting exhibitions and it was very interesting to learn about Finland and it’s role especially during the Second World War.
Yesterday evening, we walked at the harbour of Helsinki and we both enjoyed it a lot. From the harbour, you have a beautiful view of the city and the two churches, but also a very nice view on the seaside and the boats lying in the harbour.
Today, we didn't do very much. We just went for some shopping in one shopping centre with Laura and little Lilly and enjoyed the last hours in Helsinki.
Once again, we want to say thank you to all I those who made this stay in Finland so perfect! We had so much fun, learned a lot about Finland but also about ourselves, made new friends and saw so many new things! Kiitos-thank you<3
